VIVIENNE WESTWOOD fashion show - MEN'S COLLECTION Automn-Winter 2016/17 in Milan (with interview)

The new Vivienne Westwood machos flirt with a new femininity, the cutthroat red eye shadow, wearing asymmetrical and draped dresses or tops.Designer : Andreas Kronthaler & Vivienne WestwoodTheme of the collection: Be specific!Inspiration: The city of Venice and its lagoon invaded and spoiled by the huge cruise ships.Fabrics: Focus this season on worked knit with patterns taken from nature.Colours: They are treated in patchwork under the form of a rainbow, or in a total look. It shines and it clashes! The man dares pink, red, silver as well as stripes and tartans. Please Note: Derbies with a large platform for men, necklaces composed of recycled cans or some with the male sex.Interview from: Andreas KronthalerIt’s called ‘be specific’. We were very much inspired by Venice, everybody knows Venice, but Venice is a bit like a little microcosm and when we save Venice, we will save the world, it really stands for that, it’s very symbolic. We have to try to push boundaries again and there is a lot of unisex. Men should become more women and women should stay as women. It is a reaction to what is going on now a little bit. There is a lot of recycled stuff; we made chains out of can bottle things and any kind of rubbish you find around. When you look at African people and the third world countries we call them, they are very inventive with many things and there is a lot we can learn from them.
