Issey Miyake Men - Menswear Show Autumn/Winter 2015/16 in Paris avec interview

A new elegance at Issey Miyake. For this winter 2015/16 collection, Yusuke Takahashi chose to dress the man in a more mature, more urban style. The suits become the central element. The designer was inspired by the work of the artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh whose graphic lines are found in designs on the jacquard knitwear. The silk taken directly from the studios in Japan is mixed with wool, nylon and mohair. The jumpers and cardigans – capes paired with trousers and loose fitting bermuda shorts showing the relaxed allure that is not to be forgotten. To note: the arty touch with the collaboration with the artist Satoshi Fukiwara whose close up photos are printed on several bags and shirts. Interview: Yusuke Takahashi: Elegant suits are in this collection because usually Issey Miyake makes very relaxed and sporty style, but this time I tried to make a more sharp and architectural style, so I was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who was a Scottish architect, his work is very interesting because he uses a lot of geometrical shapes. I was inspired by his style, he looks very elegant. This time I used Japanese silk that I took from the cocoon. And we used silk in a jacquard jacket, on tweed jacket and knitted jacket.Music from the show
