LVMH’s tech incubator has welcomed its third cohort of companies at start-up campus Station F in Paris. Among them, OneStock, a provider of inventory-harmonisation software solutions for brands and retail chains.
Four weeks of anti-government protests that have hit French brick-and-mortar retailers are also taking their toll on online peers during the crucial Christmas shopping season, said France's e-commerce federation, Fevad.
The French will spend 19 billion euros ($21.5 billion) on online purchases over Christmas and the Black Friday to Cyber Monday sales days, lifting total online retail sales to over 90 billion euros for 2018, said Fevad.
Online retail sales in France rose 13% to 22.3 billion euros ($26.10 billion) in the first quarter, said the French E-Commerce Federation, highlighting growth in a sector that has seen Amazon and others make in-roads.
