The major U.S. department store just announced a big change to its management line up. Anne Bramman will join the Seattle-based company as its Chief Financial Officer.

Bramman previously served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Avery Dennison Corporation, and has also acted as CFO of Carnival Cruise Line and Henri Bendel. At Nordstrom, she will be taking over the leadership role from Mike Koppel, who served 16 years as the company’s CFO. Koppel will stay on at Nordstrom until the end of the year in an advisory position.

“Nordstrom has been an industry leader in strategically investing for the future and I look forward to supporting their commitment to operating excellence,” Bramman said of her new position in a press release.

Nordstrom was founded as a shoe store in Seattle in 1901, and now holds 353 stores. The company also owns clearance stores such as Nordstrom Rack and personalized clothing service Trunk Club. The company was recently included in Fortune 100’s list of best places to work, and was also named Brand of the Year along with Apple in the Harris Poll’s annual EquiTrend study.

Of Bramman’s new appointment, Blake Nordstrom, co-president of Nordstrom, Inc., said, “Anne’s breadth of financial expertise and background as a strong business leader will serve us well as we continue to invest in our growth strategy.”
