Birchbox announces key retail executive appointments

Beauty and grooming retailer, Birchbox announced Tuesday several executive hires to grow its offline business. The company has appointed Philippe Pinatel as President and Chief Operations Officer, Douglas Simpson as Vice President of Retail, Ben Fay as Vice President of Retail Development & Customer Experience, and Andrew Lande-Shannon as Design Director of Offline Retail.


Philippe Pinatel has been named Birchbox President and Chief Operating Officer


Pinatel heads to Birchbox from Sephora where he served as VP and GM of Sephora Inside JCP and most recently served as SVP and GM of Sephora Canada. He possesses nearly 20 years of experience in large-scale retail operations, which began at Guerlain International where he spent 11 years. At Birchbox, Pinatel will lead several core functions including merchandising, product development, retail, operations and international.
 
Simpson, Fay and Lande-Shannon have been appointed to develop and execute the company’s brick-and-mortar expansion in 2016. The trio has collectively served at Gucci, Apple, Prada and Abercrombie & Fitch among others, and was behind Birchbox’s summer Road Trip campaign that brought the Birchbox shopping experience to Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles.

New York City-based Birchbox currently has over 1 million subscribers Birchbox has more than 1 million subscribers and operates in six countries, including France, Spain, UK, Belgium and Canada.
