Watches of Switzerland is using the redesigned lower level of its flagship store in New York’s SoHo to host a sneaker and watches exhibition with Stadium Goods as it continues to build its reputation in the US market.

Running until 2 December, the Sneaker Time exhibition combines rare trainers with luxury timepieces to celebrate the passionate nature of collectors. 15 combinations are on display, bringing together limited-edition and rare shoes such as the Balenciaga Track.2., the Supreme x Nike Air Jordan V and the Nike Air FoamPosite One “Paranorman” with timepieces from brands including Grand Seiko, Hublot, Bremont and Ulysse Nardin.

Watches of Switzerland executive vice president David Hurley said: “With the renovation of (the SoHo flagship's) lower level and innovative programming like Sneaker Time, we are creating a dynamic new platform that will allow us to engage with an even broader community."

The watch and jewellery business, which is part of a group that also owns Mappin and Webb and Goldsmiths, acquired Us jewellery chain Mayor’s for nearly $105 million two years ago.

The deal allowed it to expand across the US, where the company now operates 23 stores, including 15 with Rolex concessions. US stores accounted for 23% of total group sales last year, contributing £773 million.

In Stadium Goods, Watches of Switzerland found an exceptional partner to highlight the excitement of collecting luxury accessories. The sneaker marketplace was bought by Farfetch in its first major move after going public in December last year, changing hands for $250 million.
