Vogue Italia has launched a new exhibit celebrating the work of female fashion photographers, featuring the work by famed fashion photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth, Vanessa Beecroft, and Cindy Sherman. The exhibit will also showcase the work of emerging photographers like Juno Calypso, Petra Collins, and Maisie Cousins.

This exhibit is hosted by Vogue Italia as part of the magazine’s first-ever Vogue Photo Festival. The Female Gaze will explore the female photographer view and re-appropriation of female identity in fashion photography. "[The exhibit] features the works of female photographers who are revolutionising the way the female body is represented in fashion and an exhibition about the photographers selected through the scouting initiative launched as of today by PhotoVogue," Vogue Italia said in a statement.

The exhibit was curated by Vogue Italia’s senior photo editor Alessia Glaviano and the publication’s editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani, as part of the Vogue Photo Festival, a weeklong event celebrating the past and present of fashion photography. Over 30 exhibits and many public lectures will be popping up all over Milan as part of the Vogue Photo Festival.

The exhibit opened on Wednesday and will run until November 26th, 2016 at BASE Milano. The city of Milan is sponsoring the festival, and all venues are open with free admission.
