Launched in 2009 with the aim of highlighting precious woods, which are among the most finest ingredients of the perfumer's art, the Collection Extraordinaire by Van Cleef & Arpels has been extended to include a new eau de parfum, "Bois d'Amande."

The fragrance will be made available from a selection of sales outlets from March 15.

With this exceptional new perfume, Van Cleef & Arpels has embarked on an exploration of the different facets of an "imagined almond tree," a scent that is both delicate and indulgent, and redolent of rare wood.

Here, the structuring ingredient is cedar, which is at the heart of this latest perfume composed by nose Sidonie Lancesseur.

"When creating this new fragrance, I pictured almond trees in the Italian sunshine. I wanted to create a wonderful contrast between the verticality of the woody notes and the irresistible tenderness of an almond accord, together with a vanilla base," explains the perfumer in a press release.

The fragrance focuses on the woody notes of Virginia cedar, which mingle with powdery almond and vanilla over an indulgent base of musk and vanilla.

"Bois d'Amande," which has been added to a collection comprising the fragrances "Bois d'Iris" and "Bois Doré," will be available from March 15.
