Beretta was born in Italy and has a degree in Management Studies from Milan’s Bocconi University. He began his career in the fashion industry in 1993 at Italian department store Rinascente, where he worked for 7 years in various roles, from senior buyer to menswear merchandising manager.

In September 2003, he was hired by luxury menswear label Ermenegildo Zegna, where he worked for 11 years, starting as senior merchandising director and eventually becoming the label’s retail development director.

Before joining Tod's, Beretta was the CEO of Bottega Veneta and chief client and marketing officer at Kering.
