Sonia Rykiel’s new shop in shop in Bloomingdale's in New York is the brand’s first US location since it was acquired by First Heritage Brands. Located on the “designer” floor of the department store on 59th Street in Manhattan, the space opened in June marks the return of the Parisian house to the North American market.

The opening marks the return of Sonia Rykiel to the United States in the Bloomingdale's network, and the renewal of a partnership that dates back 34 years with the legendary department store. The company hired Nathan Levy last year as its first US managing director.

The Parisian label, whose collections will be overseen by artistic director Julie de Libran (formerly at Prada and Louis Vuitton) starting with spring-summer 2015, is working on other plans to expand in North America as well, it said in a statement.
