Rebag to hit Montauk with summertime pop-up

Digital-first designer handbag resale platform Rebag will be looking to appeal to locals and summer tourists when it opens a two-day pop-up at The Surf Lodge in Montauk, Long Island, later this month.

 
Running July 13 through 14, the pop-up will offer customers the opportunity to shop highly coveted luxury handbags from labels including Chanel, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton, among others.
 
Visitors will also be able to participate in a giveaway contest giving them the chance to win a Louis Vuitton bag. And if that weren’t enough to tempt handbag fans out to Montauk, on June 14 the pop-up will play host to a performance by American singer-songwriter John Legend.

Founded as an online marketplace for luxury handbags in 2014, Rebag has been doubling down on its brick-and-mortar footprint in recent months. Having finished 2018 with a total of five permanent stores spread over New York and LA, the platform has already opened two new locations in California and Miami this year.

Indeed, the company has announced plans to inaugurate a total of 30 new stores over the next five years, an ambitious expansion plan which Rebag intends to fund with the $25 million in fresh capital that it secured in February.
