Raeburn has appointed Jolyon Bexon as head of retail as it embarks on the next stage of a plan following a rebrand earlier this year.

Jolyon Bexon has been named head of retail at Raeburn - Raeburn

His appointment comes ahead of the brand’s Hackney studio reopening as a retail space on 9 March.

Bexon, who first met Christopher Raeburn whilst studying fashion design at Middlesex University, has spent the past 15 years working at several established fashion brands. He cut his teeth as a store manager at luxury firm Paul Smith, before joining menswear specialist Gieves & Hawkes in 2010.

Most recently, he was UK and Spain retail manager at Italian menswear house Brioni.

Bexon will help drive Raeburn’s retail strategy at a time of significant growth for the business. In November, founder Christopher Raeburn appointed his brother Graeme as performance director, and in January, he rebranded to simply ‘Raeburn’.

Next month will also see the brand open its design lab in London as a retail space from Wednesdays to Sundays. It will be the label’s first store, joining a number of pop-ups and nearly 30 stockists in Europe, the US, Russia, Canada, China and Japan.

Speaking about the retail space, Bexon said: “For me, the best part will be for our guests to experience a working studio on the Wednesday-Friday opening days. The talented team here are always busy making and designing so visitors will be able to get a very transparent and authentic view of our business.

“The team here are looking forward to giving every visitor a tour of the space and to introduce the new SS19 collection. There are not many retail locations where you can gain a full 360 understanding of how a design business operates.”
