Perry Ellis continues to champion the 1990s, with the third drop of its ‘Perry Ellis America' capsule collection.

The sportswear-inspired label first unveiled the limited-edition, unisex line -- which pays homage to the sub-label of the same name that the brand first launched in 1984 with Levi's -- last year, with 12 pieces from its archives, following up with a second drop in January. Now it has released ‘Capsule 3,' a 35-piece "curated mix of reissued and updated interpretations of original designs," with select pieces launching exclusively in partnership with US retailer Urban Outfitters.

For the third edition of the series, Perry Ellis has focused on new fabrications in nylon and canvas weaves, adding knitwear and cotton fleece offerings to the lineup, in a color scheme of navy, red, hunter and gold. There are two new nylon tracksuits -- one is a reinterpreted style and the other is a standard reissue of an original design -- as well as a color block hoodie featuring a mash-up of original Perry Ellis America logos, and a fleece quarter-zip. Urban Outfitter exclusives include a washed denim trucker jacket, denim jeans and a popover fleece.

"We are excited to be partnering with Urban Outfitters for the Capsule 3 debut of Perry Ellis America," said Michael Maccari, Creative Director of Perry Ellis, of the label's new collaboration. "This Fall seasonal capsule hones in on our brand's 90's legacy; the synergy with Urban Outfitters makes it an ideal retail partner for us to reach a new audience."

Archival fashion has seen something of a resurgence this year, as brands seek to honor their heritage with updated or reimagined collections. This month the luxury label Coach unveiled a pop-up experience called "The Coach Originals" offering shoppers a series of ‘restored' pieces from its archives, a batch of unique, ‘remixed,' one-of-a-kind pieces that incorporate archival styles, and a new ‘remade' line inspired by the label's past designs. Gap marked its 50th anniversary with two ‘Denim Through the Decades' and ‘1969 Premium' collections inspired by key designs pulled from its own archives, and April saw Tommy Hilfiger reboot its vintage Coca-Cola collection, taking inspiration from a collaboration that first came about in 1986.
