Moda Birmingham reports slight decrease in attendance

Located both in the centre of England and at the heart of the market, fashion trade show Moda Birmingham has just closed the doors of its August edition, which took place over the course of 3 days from August 14-16. Even though the attendance rate fell by 3%, the fair’s overall performance seems to have pleased the organisers, as one must bear in mind that its figures for the August 2010 edition (around 12,000 visitors) was considered to be an incredible performance at the time (up 22% from August 2009). For this increasingly international event, the goal this season was once again to extend its offer.

This edition gave Moda the opportunity to make a few changes to its segmentation. The Birmingham event, which already offers womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, lingerie and swimwear, decided to make some of its subdivisions even more specialised. The August edition saw the addition of three new zones: Moda White dedicated to contemporary women’s fashion, Moda Rouge offering a selection of designer lingerie, as well as Select, featuring urban, sport, street and contemporary fashion across footwear and menswear.

Moda Birmingham’s next edition, taking place in 2012 from February 19-21, should enjoy the same positive dynamic that the fair has been experiencing over the last 2 years.
