Hip-hop artist Meek Mill has scored a hat trick with his latest fashion venture.

The musician has invested in the retailer Lids, which is the largest retail seller of hats and licensed sports products in North America. The Philadelphia native has joined an ownership group that includes Fanatics and Ames Watson, which acquired the brand in February 2019 -- but in addition to becoming a co-owner, he will also work on brand strategy for the label and, of course, release his own exclusive line of hats.

"I've always been a fan of Lids -- growing up, I remember buying their hats to match my outfits and look my best," Mill said in a statement. "It's amazing to see my relationship with the brand come full-circle and have the opportunity to evolve as a businessman. We have a great team in place and we're looking forward to taking Lids to new heights."

Meanwhile, Tom Ripley, Lids Chief Executive Officer, referred to the star as "a true original artist with an incredible sense of fashion," adding: "Meek's first line of hats will be unique and the first of many ways we work together."

The limited-edition hat line, which is set to drop in August, is the latest career milestone for the rapper, who released his latest album "Championships" in November 2018, in addition to taking on the role of co-chair at the ‘Reform' alliance -- an organization that aims to advance criminal justice reform -- back in January.
