British motor-racing driver Sir Lewis Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, is among Valentino’s first DI.VAs (Di.fferent Va.lues) ambassadors, starring in the Valentino Pink PP ad campaign.

Valentino’s DI.VAs ambassadors are multi-talented individuals with strong moral codes and values, identified by the label’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. They are active in fields like cinema, music, literature and sport, each of them playing a key role in promoting a new vision for their sector and advocating greater diversity.

Hamilton is one of Formula 1’s most successful drivers ever and, away from the race track, he is keen to tap his position and influence to spearhead change in motor sports for future generations.

In 2021, Hamilton set up the Mission 44 foundation, with the goal of supporting youngsters from the UK's under-represented minorities by means of strategic partnerships, collaborations, charity donations and advocacy action. “Great things happen when we embrace our authentic selves, but even greater things happen when we come together to exchange our visions, values and creativity,” said Hamilton in a press release, adding that he is “honoured to partner with Piccioli and Valentino, a brand I’ve long admired, to celebrate the Pink PP Collection.”

Piccioli, also quoted in the press release, said: “In his short Instagram bio, Lewis writes ‘Equal rights for all. Love is all.’ Few words that mean a lot. Lewis is an interpreter: he is able to use his energy to express his authentic and precious self. The talent he spreads with his whole persona goes far beyond his sporting excellence and embraces everything he does.”

Hamilton will also collaborate on ‘Valentino the Narratives’, fashion's first text-only campaign, in which the label invites celebrities to write short pieces to create high-impact advertisements. In the autumn, Hamilton will pen his own reflections on the theme of ‘Love’ for the initiative, which will be promoted via window-displays featured at various independent booksellers in London, a first for ‘Valentino the Narratives’ in the UK.
