Levi’s has collaborated with Japanese apparel retailer Beams on an exclusive capsule collection which flips iconic pieces from the classic US denim brand inside out and is set to launch at the end of April.

The collection includes inverted versions of the Levi’s Western Shirt, Trucker Jacket and Selvedge 501 jeans, as well as an inside-out denim Kimono and a graphic tee.

The capsule’s inside-out aesthetic extends to the smallest details of each denim piece, with everything from the famous Levi’s red tab to the standard leather brand patches being given the reversal treatment. Unsurprisingly, exposed stitching runs throughout the collection, while the graphic tee also features backwards co-branding and exterior seams.

“I wanted to do something different with Beams, a good partner of Levi's,” said Jonathon Cheung, SVP of global design at Levi’s, in a release. “So the concept is literally ‘inside out’. As a result, we've come up with a beautiful and unusual collection that should also appeal to denimheads.”

Pieces in the capsule range in price from ¥4,800 (just short of $43) for the graphic tee to ¥33,000 (around $295) for the kimono, before tax.

The Levi’s x Beams 'The Inside Out Collection' will be available first at Beams' Japanese brick-and-mortar stores from April 26 before a global rollout on May 3.
