French sportswear label Lacoste has strengthened its executive committee by appointing two new vice-presidents, who will be working closely with General Manager Thierry Guibert.

Catherine Spindler - DR

The first is Catherine Spindler, who last year was appointed head of France at event sales website Vente Privée, where it also was vice-president of customer experience, and who is now in charge of marketing and branding for Lacoste. A graduate of the EDHEC business school, Spindler began her career at Guerlain, where she worked between 1998 and 2001. She later joined the Rocher group, for which she was deployed in Asia, and worked on the transformation of the Docteur P. Ricaud brand between 2008 and 2014. In 2014, Spindler joined Vente Privée as marketing director. Her mission at Lacoste will be to further raise the brand’s market positioning and boost its appeal. As a member of Lacoste's executive committee, she replaces Sandrine Conseiller, who in H1 took charge of Aigle, another brand owned by the Maus group.

Jean-Louis Delamarre - Lacoste

The second new committee member, Jean-Louis Delamarre, has been working for Lacoste since 2014, and has now become its executive vice-president in charge of markets and distribution, tasked with expanding the brand’s global footprint. Delamarre worked for 20 years at Procter & Gamble in various executive positions around the world, and then joined the ranks of Lacoste, firstly in charge of Asia-Pacific and, from 2017, of the EMEA region. Within the executive committee, he takes over from a long-standing Lacoste executive, Didier Lalance, who has left the group.

“We are delighted to be announcing today the appointments of Catherine Spindler and Jean-Louis Delamarre. This shows both the appeal the Lacoste group has and our commercial drive,” said Guibert in a press release, adding that “we rely on the leadership and managerial qualities of these two eminent professionals as we pursue the premiumization of the brand, making it more and more desirable and boosting its commercial development worldwide.”

Lacoste is based in Paris, where it recently inaugurated new headquarters, and last year it topped the €2 billion revenue mark.
