The news comes following an agreement between former owner Brand Retail Group and investment company, Wijkermeer Investments, on a takeover of the label. As a result, Tumble ‘N Dry will continue as an independently operating company with support of Wijkermeer Investments. Rob Zwanenburg, partner at the investment company, will now manage the daily operations at Tumble ‘N Dry.

Zwanenburg said of the company’s latest portfolio addition: “Tumble 'N Dry is a good example of a company that shows that you can also make progress in a difficult market. For example, Tumble has managed to double its turnover in the past four years; the collection has expanded; and we see interesting developments online and internationally.”

Wijkermeer Investments was founded in 2015 and focuses on long-term investments in medium-sized Dutch companies. The investor works closely with its portfolio companies, which can be in an advisory or more active role.

The Brand Retail Group is a portfolio company of Standard Investment and has previously sold the brands Gsus, Ontour, JC Rags and Kings of Indigo. After the sale of Tumble 'N Dry, the group consists of fashion chain OPEN32 (with 60 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium) and fashion and lifestyle brand Sissy-Boy (40 stores in the Benelux).

At the moment, Tumble ‘N Dry operates 8 brand stores in Eindhoven, Tilburg, Utrecht, Haarlem, Breda, Amstelveen, Amersfoort, Maastricht and 2 outlet stores in Lelystad (the Batavia outlet) and Roosendaal (the Rosada outlet).

In addition to its Dutch stores, Tumble ‘N Dry is also available via children's clothing stores in Scandinavia, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Eastern Europe, Canada, Japan, Italy, Greece, Switzerland and Australia, as well as its online store.
