H&M unveils new bridal and lingerie collection

H&M has "something new" for brides-to-be this season.

The Swedish fashion giant has unveiled its Spring 2019 bridal collection, and is making its first foray into the bridal lingerie sector. The lingerie line, which runs the gamut from lace bustiers and bodysuits to traditional garters and a satin robe, comes in a color palette of ivory, white, navy blue and black.

The bridal collection itself was inspired by vintage styles, but features modern interpretations such as a two-piece top and skirt set, and an off-the-shoulder lace top with a full-skirted satin bottom. There are also more traditional long-sleeved lace and chiffon gowns, and a romantic sleeveless lace shift dress.

H&M isn't the only brand with wedding fever. Earlier this month the ready-to-wear brand & Other Stories -- which is part of the H&M Group -- launched its debut women's bridal capsule, while the British designer Stella McCartney also stepped into the bridal arena with the launch of her debut wedding collection last November. Her 17-piece collection, dubbed 'Made With Love,' combined traditional bridal designs with her signature minimalist style, featuring dresses, a jumpsuit and an ivory tuxedo.
