Flannels is continuing to grow its store portfolio. The Frasers Group-owned high-end fashion brand has signed a 15-year lease to open a flagship store at the Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford, Essex.

The 11,564 sq ft unit is set to open in early 2022, according to Property Week.

In further positive news for the regional shopping centre, fashion giant H&M has also agreed to extend its lease by a further 10 years. Under the new arrangement, the current 24,000 sq ft H&M store will be given a full refurbishment, with work currently under way.

The Liberty Shopping Centre has also expanded its retail and leisure offer, securing deals with eight operators for a combined total of 22,594 sq ft. The new arrivals span a variety of sectors including fashion, health and beauty, food and beverage.

Steven Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, which manages the centre, told the publication: “This latest round of lettings highlights the appeal of our centre to both independent and international retailers, who recognise the value of what we can offer as a shopping destination”.

He added: “It is hugely encouraging to see major retailers like Frasers Group and H&M investing in their physical presence within our centre, which we believe will have a positive ripple effect for all our retailers”.
