Dior has expanded its product offerings with a new line of basics and timeless pieces. The line designed by Dior’s artistic director Kim Jones, Dior Essentials, will be permanently renewed and is the menswear equivalent of the “30 Montaigne” collection launched last year for women. Dior Essentials has already launched on the LVMH’s flagship brand’s e-commerce site as well as in some of its brick-and-mortar stores.

The collection is composed of classics of the male wardrobe with a neutral colour palette of gray, white, black, and navy. Garments are easy to wear and exhibit the brand’s signature quality and craftsmanship, designed to appeal to the masses.

This is especially the case as the line is priced significantly lower than the brand’s Dior Men ready-to-wear line. For example, a polo shirt retails for €420 ($465.16) and a cotton poplin shirt for €450. Wool twill trousers retail at €550, jackets range between €1,800 and €2,150, and a cashmere coat retails for €3,100. Prices of the accessories, however, are in line with those of Dior’s main line.

Dior Essentials should allow the brand to further widen its customer base. Simultaneously functional, sober, and chic, Dior Essentials’ apparel offers a wide range of options including sportswear, popular with its youngest customers. Options include t-shirts, sweaters, leather jackets, down jackets and denim as well as tailored options such as coats, shirts, and double breasted blazers. The collection also features numerous references to the brand’s founder Christian Dior’s signature design elements such as the classic “CD” logo and the more subtle bee logo.

“These timeless designs are adaptable for all occasions, from casual silhouettes to the most sophisticated, and from day to night,” said the brand in a statement.
