To celebrate the upcoming release of “The Times of Bill Cunningham”, the new documentary profiling the late fashion photographer, Vogue will publish a selection of never-before-seen images from Cunningham’s archive across its international editions.

The images, many never before published, capture the likes of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy; fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy; and actresses including Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minnelli.

Each Vogue will run a selection of images accompanied by a tribute to the legendary street style photographer written by Vogue International Editor Suzy Menkes.

“Bill Cunningham is the man who recorded history from his bicycle. On the streets of New York he captured people as they were, over nearly a half century,” she said.

“His eye for what people were wearing and the idiosyncrasies of city life downtown and up makes him far more than a reporter on film. He recorded in his own country and beyond how people dressed – and with its observations he followed a story of life on his lens. I hope, through the pages of Vogue, I can write his story as candidly as he portrayed so many people from famous to unknown.”

The edit consists of images included in the film “The Times of Bill Cunningham”, which will be released in cinemas in Spring 2019 and on Apple iTunes Movies. Yves Saint Laurent, Gianni Versace, Christy Turlington, Grace Jones, Anna Wintour and Diana Vreeland are some of the subjects of Cunningham’s photographs.

“The international Vogues are proud to have showcased the images from Mark Bozek's brilliant film “The Times of Bill Cunningham”,” said Jonathan Newhouse, chairman and chief executive of Condé Nast International.

“Bill Cunningham was a unique talent in the history of modern fashion, by far its most important, knowledgeable and influential documentary photographer. He brought to his calling a keen eye and a commitment to the truth. We knew each other for 30 years and I am proud to have been his friend.”

Mark Bozek added: "I am very grateful to Jonathan Newhouse and Vogue for choosing our film, “The Times of Bill Cunningham” for a global Vogue project. The select images from Bill Cunningham’s remarkable archive in the film are being seen for the first time in Vogue and in some cases introduce Cunningham’s legendary status to an entirely new and growing global audience.”
