The appointment is part of the development strategy initiated by the maison in June 2017, with the appointment of David Tourniaire-Beauciel to artistic director and the recent opening of its first e-commerce site on April 5.

"With his extraordinary experience and knowledge of the footwear industry, I am certain that Foussi Youcef will be able to assure Clergerie's development and strengthen the position of the brand," said Perry Oosting, who has served at Clergerie's CEO for one year.

Youcef, who will now be responsible for the spring/summer 2019 sales campaign, was previously whole manager of shoes and accessories at Maison Margiela from 2004 to 2016.

Clergerie, which belongs to investment firm First Heritage Brands (Delvaux, Sonia Rykiel), carries15 namesake stores in France and internationally, and is present across department stores and a selection of concept stores; a network that looks to be expanding soon.
