PARIS, France -British investment firm Charterhouse has reportedly dropped a plan to sell French beauty retailer Nocibé after it failed to find a buyer, says French daily Le Figaro, without citing sources.

Despite several weeks of discussions with German perfumery chain Douglas, which was acquired in 2012 by American investment firm Advent International, the two companies failed to reach an agreement on the deal.

Consequently, Charterhouse will reportedly retain ownership of the French brand and has outlined a debt refinancing plan for the company.

The German acquisition of Nocibé would have placed the retailer as France’s second largest beauty chain ahead of LVMH’s Sephora and behind Marionnaud.
