Champion Athleticwear has opened its first store in Chicago, the brand's third U.S. flagship. The store's grand opening took place on September 15.

The new flagship is the brand's third store in the U.S. - Via Champion

The 1,900-square-foot store is located in the city's Wicker Park neighborhood, and will be decorated with classic Champion designs as well as fixtures developed from recycled wood from reclaimed basketball courts.

Like the brand's recently-opened New York store, the Chicago flagship offers customers on-site customization and a line of products exclusive to the Chi-Town store, including a one-off capsule collection and special edition designs made in collaboration with Chicago street artist Joseph “Sentrock” Perez. National and local collaborations will cycle in and out of the store throughout the year.

Champion’s newly re-launched footwear line will also be available in the new flagship.

“Following our successful store openings earlier this year in Los Angeles and New York, we are proud to call Chicago our newest retail home,” said David Robertson, director of Champion's brand marketing department, in a release. “Champion and Chicago are a perfect match, as we both have a long history of diversity, innovation, individuality and a strong tie to sports. We look forward to becoming part of the city’s retail and cultural fabric.”

Currently, all of Champion's brick-and-mortar stores are in the United States.
