A senior member of the Adidas UK team has left the company after a tenure of more than 25 years. The sports giant’s UK finance director Andrew Hackett has retired from his role.

Hackett joined the Stockport-based business in 1997 and became finance chief in 2006. He was previously with KPMG.

The company hasn’t specified a replacement for the retired director.

The latest results for the UK business were filed in October last year and in them, we discovered that UK turnover dropped. However, that was hardly a surprise given that they covered the period up to December 2020 when the UK was in lockdown and sporting events were cancelled all over the country.

That said, turnover was still £1.045 billion in the 12 months (down from £1.1 billion), and it managed a pre-tax profit of £20.4 million, down from £25.6 million.
