Monsoon’s Accessorize brand said Monday that it has seen a 65% customer conversion rate rise online since implementing new social technology that allows user generated content (UGC) collected across social channels to be viewed in a gallery on its website.

The brand, and sister label Monsoon, have both added a number of tech solutions to their sites in the last year and have reported positive results on several different metrics.

Accessorize is using Curalate’s Fanreel function, where customer images posted on Instagram and Facebook are curated directly on the retailer’s home page.

And as well as higher customer conversion, it said it also saw that the time shoppers spent browsing on-site was 150% higher for those interacting with the #Accessorizer gallery compared to those who didn’t engage with it. Meanwhile average order value rose by a third over an eight-month period.

The company’s Senior Content and Social Media Manager, Robyn Molyneux, said it’s also keen “to explore integrating UGC in-store, utilising our digital screens and iPads to bring the online and offline worlds closer together." And Molyneux added that if a customer is shopping online and UGC is encouraging them to make a purchase, "there’s no reason why seeing the same image in a store environment wouldn’t have the same effect.”
