Hart will leave the company at the end of this year to spend time with his family before going on to pursue other professional opportunities. As for his work at the company, he most recently was in charge of implementing the site’s marketplace, which allows boutiques and small brands to sell items directly to the consumer.

"From day one - and it literally was day one - James has consistently embodied the ASOS spirit with his enthusiasm for the ‘next thing', ideas-driven approach and never-ending focus on what's best for the business, always delivering it with our brand at the heart,” said CEO Nick Robertson.

For the past year, ASOS reported a 42% increase in new users, with a total of 7.1 million clients. For the financial year ended August this year, the company posted revenue of 769 million GBP, up 39% from the previous period.
