Sao Paulo Fashion Week: dynamism and a new energy in the young Brazilian labels

The 41st edition of Sao Paulo Fashion week was held at the end of April for 4 days in the famous Brazilian city. Looking to forget the political and economic tensions the country is going through, the fashion houses have chosen to celebrate the next season, spring/summer 2017 in good humor and creativity. And of course nothing stands out quite like the swimsuits, always so sexy and present in this fashion week. A perfect example lies with Triya through a collection inspired by desert tones and exotic prints. Two other major trends noted. First of all the lamé. The sparkles are popular once again. We particularly love the proposals from Wagner Kallieno, made in a very 80’s dance and disco spirit, desiring to spend a wild night in Brazil…The frills are also in high demand. Many designers delight in the plays on volumes at the bottom of a skirt and also on tops. At Gig Couture, the designer Gina Guerra is inspired by the artist, Sonia Delaunay and reveals a collection fluid in motion. The same goes for the young label Helo Rocha who mixes esotericism and romanticism by sprinkling the clothes with embroideries and fluid fabrics. It’s precisely the young labels who’ve been riding high and have diffused a great energy into Sao Paulo. Note the A la Garconne collection, designed by the stylist Alexandre Herchcovitch, seeking to use vintage fabrics and recycled materials. At Vitorino Campos and Cotton Project, the menswear, even unisex collections, marked this week through their dynamism. Finally the famous label Riachuelo, who invites a designer every season to present a collection, can for summer 2017 shows off with Karl Lagerfeld. They decided to immediately operate the “see now, buy now”concept by offering up, straight after the show, all the collection to sell. Music free of right : Bandit & Nikit
