LONDON (Reuters) - A third man has been charged in connection with a 40-million-pound heist at a central London jewellers, Scotland Yard said on Friday 21 August.

Clinton Mogg, 42, from Bournemouth, appeared on Saturday 22 August before magistrates in Wimbledon, southwest London, charged with conspiring with others to rob Graff jewellers in New Bond Street, Mayfair.

Two other men facing the same charges appeared at Wimbledon magistrates court earlier on Friday 21 August.

Solomun Beyene, 24, of St John's Wood, north London, and Craig Calderwood, 26, of no fixed address, have also been charged with possessing a handgun.

They were remanded in custody.

More than 40 items, including rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches, were taken from the jewellers two weeks ago.

Two smartly dressed men threatened staff with handguns and briefly took a female member of staff hostage. They fired a shot as they left. No one was injured.
