River Island introduces app experience for wearables

River Island, the British fast fashion brand, has launched its first-ever app for Apple Watch and Android Wear. The new app is specially designed to be more comparable with the wearable tech items.

Among its features are customised feeds of “new-in” items, and users can also save and view items in their wish list and add them to their bag, where they can then move seamlessly across to mobile to purchase. Users can check stock availability on the app, and find out where their nearest River Island store is.

"We are delighted to be one of the few retailers leading the way in the wearables market. River Island is always interested in finding new and exciting ways to bring our shopping experience into the lives of our customer,” said Helen Colclough, Ecommerce Development Manager, River Island.

“The Apple Watch and Android Wear apps will provide our customers with another channel to shop with us conveniently.”

River Island has also updated its other apps - for iPhone, iPad and Android - so that they are more convenient for international customers. The apps now have now more payment options, such as Giro Pay for Germany and Ideal for the Netherlands.
