Marc by Marc Jacobs to be absorbed into Marc Jacobs?

Published
Mar 20, 2015

Launched in 2001 for a younger audience and offering more affordable prices than Marc Jacobs, the Marc by Marc Jacobs brand is now getting ready to be folded into its parent brand.

This integration of Marc by Marc Jacobs into the Marc Jacobs offer does not mean a lessening of the product range, according to Women's Wear Daily, but rather a unification of the products and ultimately an expansion of the product offerings.

This move is taking place not long after the designer's full-time return to his House following his departure from Louis Vuitton.

We also know that the LVMH group, which owns the line, has mentioned the possibility of an IPO. Which of course would mean a new organisation and the launch of some ambitious objectives, with the fusion of two brands seemingly being a step in this direction.
