The 2,700 sq ft store is in a strong position next to upscale fashion retailer Flannels and footwear chain Schuh. While it’s the Scottish debut for the company, it’s actually its third store at a Hammerson-controlled mall.

Khaadi is a Pakistan-based brand and has also been expanding in its domestic market of late. Last autumn it opened a giant-sized store of over 30,000 sq ft at the Lucky One Mall in Karachi.

The interior of the new UK store is a fusion of design elements from East and West and is finished with natural materials, which the company said are the best way to showcase its colourful, Eastern-inspired clothing and accessories range.

Hammerson said the opening adds to the variety available at Silverburn with a strong mix being a key part of the mall’s appeal.

Meanwhile, Khaadi CEO Rehan Syed said the store “gives us a firm foundation to build our presence in a new UK region.”

Silverburn is anchored by Debenhams and houses over 120 retailers, including H&M and River Island, as well as offering leisure facilities, which are an increasingly important element of any mall. PureGym will open there this summer.
