Jens Werner has been promoted to the newly-created role of creative director at J.Lindeberg. The Swedish brand, founded in 1996, has tasked Werner with creating a strong and coherent brand image across its fashion and sports lines.

Jens Werner has been named creative director of the Scandinavian brand - J.Lindeberg

Werner was previously design director at the Stockholm-based company, and was responsible for the brand’s new activewear collection.

“The challenge was to create a clean look that connects with our complete offering while finding something that is personal and unique. How can clothing for high performance skiers and golfers blend well with fashion, denim and leather in a brand?,” he asked himself.

“I realised that we had to bring all the division together, paving the way for our FW18 collections, and I’m pleased because as creative director, I now have the opportunity to express that new vision throughout our brand,” said Werner.

In recent years, J.Lindeberg has been focusing on bridging the gap between its fashion and sports collections by dressing professional athletes like Jesper Parnevik and Camilo Villegas as well as musicians and celebrities.

“Jens’ appointment as creative director is the last piece of a puzzle we have been working on for several years. His background and ability to combine sports and fashion seamlessly in a modern way is just what we need to establish a lifestyle brand for the next generation,” said CEO Johan Mark.

The first SS18 collection designed by Werner will arrive in J.Lindeberg stores in January, and his first FW18 collection will be presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
