FRANKFURT, July 24, 2007 (AFP) - German fashion house Hugo Boss may soon be on the look-out for acquisitions to grow and wants to buy a second brand name, the group's chairman Bruno Saelzer said in a newspaper interview published on Tuesday, July 24th.

Boss can count on the support of its new major shareholder, the private equity group Permira, Saelzer told the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

"Private equity firms do everything that creates value. And acquisitions, if you go about them the right way, create value," Saezler said.

The chief executive did not name possible acquisition targets, but said he had in mind a brand that was already established, and was an umbrella brand name for both men's and women's fashion ranging from leisure wear to expensive business suits and accessories.
