Galleria Intima to focus on India as a manufacturing hub

The fifth edition of Galleria Intima, a trade fair for intimatewear, will project India as a manufacturing hub for domestic and global intimatewear market. The fair will be held from August 5-6, 2016 in New Delhi, India, is expected to be attended by over 2,000 visitors.



Brand owners, manufacturers of intimatewear, designers, export houses, large format retailers, online retailers and buying houses from all over the world will visit the two-day event, where prowess of Indian firms as manufacturers and providers of raw materials will be showcased. Over 1,000 brands from India are expected to visit the event.

“For a long time, India’s position has been of a sleeping giant in the global intimatewear market. It seems now that this giant is about to wake up to unleash its true potential. With our Prime Minister’s focus on Make in India, we are sure that the next five to ten years will be the golden years for the Indian intimatewear industry,” said Yusuf Dohadwala, CEO of Intimate Apparel Association of India (IAAI), which organises the fair.

The trade fair will also feature original equipment manufacturers (OEM), original design manufacturers (ODM) and machinery suppliers. So far, the show has received exhibitor participation from countries such as Italy, Turkey, China, Germany, Sri Lanka, Thailand, apart from India.
