The Fashion Tech Forum will stage its first fashion-meets-Silicon Valley conference in Los Angeles on October 6. It was founded in 2013 by Karen Harvey, whose Karen Harvey Consulting Group is an international firm focused on executive search, brand incubation and advisory services for luxury, fashion and retail. And it's the first major conference of its kind in the L.A. area, appealing particularly to the companies  and start ups at Silicon Beach.

Its purpose is to change the way brands, companies and talent think about the intersections of fashion and technology. The four-year-old annual conferences feature 750 top industry leaders and CEO’s, creative directors, designers and media. It’s set up as intimate conversations with a variety of business leaders and experts.

Presenters booked so far include Adam Goldenberg, co-founder and co-CEO of TechStyle; Farfetch chief strategy officer Stephanie Phair; Julie Bornstein of Sephora and Stitch Fix; and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Organizers are now looking to book seminars with top tech CEO’s and e-commerce site officers and designers. Luxury brands will also take part to share info on their own luxury digital sites and how they built and promoted them. Social media will of course be a big topic, as will the courting of digital CEO’s by luxury brands as a way to lure millennial shoppers.
