Sloan is currently working as design director at British contemporary fashion brand Hunter, where he oversees design in all product categories for womenswear, menswear and childrenswear. According to the label, he played a key role in delivering a strong design language across the label and designed new brand icons that have seen strong commercial success.

Before joining Hunter, Sloan spent over 10 years at luxury fashion house Burberry, where he held several roles and worked closely with Christopher Bailey. He was most recently head of the women's Prorsum team, responsible for all shows, pre-collections and VIP dressing, but his experience at Burberry also included working across areas such as hard accessories, eyewear, watches and jewellery.

Iris Epple-Righi, CEO of Escada said: "Niall is a great creative talent who has the ideal experience, energy and vision to reinterpret the legacy of the brand in a relevant and contemporary way. His 10 years in luxury at Burberry combined with his recent experience at a more contemporary and casual brand such as Hunter is a perfect fit for how we want to develop Escada. His unique experience across multiple areas including apparel, accessories, footwear and VIP dressing is also very relevant for us."

Sloan said he plans to focus on the womenswear brand’s fun, bold and feminine heritage. He will start work with the team on Fall 2018 with his first full collection being Resort 2019.
