Ebay has issued an open call for users to list their coveted sneakers through a specially curated space called Sneaker Drop. In addition to buying pre-owned shoes, Adidas, Stadium Goods and Reebok are offering special deals.

Sneaker Drop - Ebay

Ebay boasts impressive sneaker resale statistics. According to the company, there are 1.2 million sneaker listings on the site each day, with a pair purchased every 1.5 seconds. The average price for a pair of sneakers sold on the site is $224. The top five sneaker brands that sell on Ebay are Nike, Adidas, Jordan (Nike-owned), New Balance and Vans.

The most expensive pair of sneakers that sold this year on Ebay was a pair of Chanel x Pharrell Williams x Adidas NMD Human Race, which sold for $10,000.

Ebay partnered with Stadium Goods to curate Sneaker Drop. To bring the event to life, the platform is also launching a custom installation created in partnership with a renowned street artist that will debut at Sneaker Drop's SoHo store before the launch.

"Sneakerheads relentlessly chase new additions to their collections, especially with the releases slated for June," said Renee Paradise, senior director of Fashion at Ebay in a release.

"We wanted to offer a new way to bring together the best selection of rare pairs and trending collabs in one destination for our community of sneaker fans - to create the ultimate 'drop'."

Ebay's Sneaker Drop officially goes live June 27th. Stadium Goods is hosting a launch party on June 26th where the custom installation will go live.
