Dries Van Noten documentary on the way

UK-based production company Dogwoof Pictures has acquired the rights to a The movie will follow 25 years in the life of legendary fashion designer Dries Van Noten. Guest appearances will be made by Iris Apfel and Suzy Menkes, as well as Van Noten himself.

The film will be titled “Dries” and will follow the Antwerp-based designer’s legendary 25-year career in the industry. One of the members of the Antwerp Six, Van Noten presented his first collection in 1986. Today, his collection is sold in over 400 stores worldwide and his designs are much celebrated by the fashion press.

The documentary will follow a year in the designer’s life as he creates four ranges. Production on the documentary is already in progress. 

Dogwoof’s theatrical sales chief, Ana Vicent, told the presses. ““Reiner’s access to the personal and creative mind of Dries is captivating. Van Noten is one of the most private fashion designers out there and it is a privilege to represent the first film ever made about him, and to witness his creative process.”

The film is being produced, written, and director by Reiner Holzemer. Holzemer has a reputation for creating fashion and art focused documentaries. Some of his past subjects include Juergen Teller & Karl Lagerfeld

Dogwoof Pictures will handle all rights for the film, except for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, which Prokino will handle.
