DXL expands into Canada

Big and tall apparel retailer Destination XL Group, Inc. (DXLG) has made its first foray into Canada with the opening of its first DXL store in.
 
The store opened on Saturday in Ajax, Ontario, in Harwood Centre. A second store opening is also scheduled for this year in Mississauga, Ontario.

"The DXL Men's Apparel store was built with the bigger guy in mind and directly addresses needs he's expressed through customer feedback and focus groups," explains David Levin, President and CEO of DXLG, in a news statement. "We saw that bigger guys in Canada were facing these same challenges, and we are now addressing their needs."
 
The company also noted that have long had Canadian cutomers in New York, Washington, and Michigan shopping, indicating “the need to expand the brand into this market.”

At the new DXL Men's Apparel store, shoppers can find over 100 brands and designers such as Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Buffalo Jeans, and more. DXL are also exclusive distributors of brands like Brooks Brothers and Lacoste in XL sizes. They equally carry their own private label brands including Harbor Bay, 28 Degrees, Oak Hill and True Nation. 
 
The DXL store in Ontario is operated by DXL Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Destination XL Group, Inc.
