Chinese group Fosun, the new owner of Lanvin, has named a successor to Madame Shaw-Lan Wang as president of the historic French label. The group has selected Joann Cheng (or Cheng Yun by her Chinese name) to take the helm, according to Chinese media Luxe.co.

It's a logical replacement, with Fosun acquiring a majority stake in the French fashion house earlier in the year, leaving Madame Wang and Swiss investor Ralph Barthel with minority stakes.

The new Lanvin president is also deputy finance director of Fosun International and executive president of Fosun Fashion Group. Cheng is a graduate of the China Europe International Business School, and previously worked as finance director for drones maker DJI up until January 2016. Before this, she was employed by accounting firm KPMG

For now, Lanvin has not commented on the appointment.
