CWF, the group specialised in upscale children’s fashion, recently presented on December 1st (to its buyers and the press) its first line with Little Marc Jacobs. The collection, coming out next June for the Fall/Winter 2012-13 season, is said to be “closer to Marc Jacobs’ DNA”.

Six months ago, CWF signed a worldwide licensing agreement for the design, manufacturing and distribution of the kidswear line, which belongs do LVMH’s subsidiary Marc Jacobs International. Its previous licensee had been the Zannier group.

“We drew inspiration from the look of the Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs lines, created skirts, tops and coats and stylised them with bows, stripes, quilted patterns, and even the famous bird prints that Marc Jacobs loves. The line thus offers a number of products which were strongly inspired by the more casual pieces from the adult collection, such as the tulle skirt embroided with flowers and a duffle sweater,” said Régine Bretaudeau, Little Marc Jacobs’ creative director. She also explained that, according to some retailers, the previous kid’s lines were missing this "Marc Jacobs DNA".

The new Little Marc Jacobs collection will offer clothes for newborns and children up to 12 years of age, with 60% of the products made for girls. It will be sold at some Marc Jacobs boutiques, multi-brand and department stores, as well as at Atelier de Courcelles points of sale.
